Veerle Provoost is a professor of empirical bioethics at Bioethics Institute Ghent, Ghent University, Belgium. She has a background in Philosophy as well as Social Health Sciences. She is a past coordinator of the Task Force on Ethics and Law and the Special Interest Group Ethics & Law of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and a member of several international research networks such as the Network on Ethics of Families. Her research focuses on empirical bioethics in the field of reproductive medicine and family building, including genetic and social parenthood in the context of donor conception.
