Senior Researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP), and Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine (U. Porto). Appointed member of the Board of Directors of ISPUP since 2015, Silva is the chair of the Department of Health and Society. PhD in Sociology, her research focus on the societal and ethical challenges emerging from the uses of reproductive and genetic technologies. Her current multi- and mixed-methods research explores people-centred and integrated healthcare and contemporary modes of governance of research, health regulation and clinical practices.
