Full Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology, Institute for Social Sciences of the University of Minho. She holds a PhD in Sociology. She is an expert on ethical and political issues related to transnational genetic data sharing and to controversies associated with forensic genomic technologies. Her work has focused on genetic surveillance, discrimination and public participation.
